Flight Sim Support
Testing and help for people who make Microsoft Flight Simulator add-ons. The live site carries my studio’s credit, and the redesign opens on a takeoff.
The takeoff film and the closing photo are AI-generated, made for and approved by the client.
The product
Flight Sim Support offers beta testing and quality assurance, app development and tools, and vendor and publishing support for Microsoft Flight Simulator. M Networks built the live site, credited in its footer. The redesign is static HTML, CSS and JavaScript with no dependencies.
The hard part
A cinematic opening is easy to make heavy. This one had to feel like a takeoff, still load fast, respect reduced motion and data saver, and never hold the page hostage.
How it works
Played once, at 1.7×
An 8-second film plays once at 1.7 times speed and fades into a closing still. It pauses off screen and in hidden tabs, and is skipped entirely under reduced motion or Save-Data.
dist/flight.js, README
A runway loader with a hard cap
The loader waits for the poster to decode and the fonts to load, never shows for less than 1.45 seconds or more than 2.4, and any key or tap dismisses it. Deep links skip it.
dist/loader.js
The mark, redrawn
The navy logo redraws the original aircraft and contrail as a clean vector, so it holds up from favicon to hero.
README, Design and assets
A form that fails gracefully
Seven tests cover the contact handler: configuration, no secret leakage, server validation errors, network failure, duplicate clicks and the honeypot.

About these screens
- The takeoff film and the closing photo are AI-generated, made for and approved by the client.
- The redesign isn’t launched yet: flightsimsupport.net shows the previous design, also by M Networks.
- The code is in a private repository, so this page describes it at README level.
